The severe thunderstorm warning for storey, south central washoe and northern lyon counties and central carson city will expire at 700 pm pdt, the storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property. therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. however gusty winds and heavy rain are still possible with this thunderstorm.

At 155 pm pdt, a severe thunderstorm was located near johnson lane, or 8 miles southeast of carson city, moving northwest at 15 mph (radar indicated). Hazards include 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, fencing and trees.

The severe thunderstorm warning for storey, south central washoe, douglas, and northern lyon counties and eastern carson city will expire at 430 pm pdt, the severe thunderstorm which prompted the warning has weakened. therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. however heavy rain, pea size hail, and gusty winds are still likely with this thunderstorm. i-80 will likely be impacted by heavy rain between reno and usa parkway.

At 459 pm pdt, a strong thunderstorm was located over carson city, and is nearly stationary. the storm has weakened but can still produce severe weather, heavy rains, and frequent lightning (trained weather spotters). Hazards include 40 to 55 mph wind gusts and dime to penny size hail. Expect damage to roofs, siding, fencing, and trees. dust storms resulting in serious accidents. Locations impacted include, carson city, carson city airport, indian hills, new washoe city, incline village-crystal bay, washoe lake campground, us 395 at douglas-carson city co line, lakeview and stewart.
