At 618 pm mst, doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. this storm was located 11 miles southeast of sentinel, or 24 miles southwest of gila bend, and moving northwest at 20 mph. thunderstorms were fast moving and can generate strong damaging winds, heavy rain and blowing dust reducing visibilities.

A severe thunderstorm warning remains in effect until 700 pm mst for east central yuma county, the severe thunderstorm warning issued earlier for portions of eastern yuma county along interstate 8, including the towns of dateland and mohawk will continue until 7 pm mst. strong thunderstorms continue in the area at 645 pm. these storms have a history of producing severe wind gusts. dense blowing dust with visibilities under 1 mile are also possible. locations impacted include, mohawk, dateland.
