Hail damage to vehicles is expected. expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. this severe thunderstorm will be near, altoona, prairie meadows and adventureland amusement park around 805 pm cdt. bondurant around 810 pm cdt. mitchellville around 820 pm cdt. colfax around 830 pm cdt. other locations impacted by this severe thunderstorm include weh-weh-neh-kee state park, margo frankel woods state park, prairie city krohn airport, mingo, ankeny regional airport, valeria, elkhart and alleman. this includes the following highways, interstate 35 between mile markers 87 and 98. interstate 80 between mile markers 134 and 160. Interstate 235 between mile markers 13 and 14.

At 344 pm cst, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over prairie city, or 11 miles southwest of newton, moving northeast at 50 mph (radar indicated rotation). Hazards include tornado. Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. damage to roofs, windows and vehicles will occur. tree damage is likely. this dangerous storm will be near, newton around 355 pm cst. baxter around 400 pm cst. other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include prairie city krohn airport. This includes interstate 80 between mile markers 153 and 162.
