At 236 pm edt, doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing quarter size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. this storm was located 6 miles south of east asheville, or over skyland, moving east at 15 mph. in addition, dime to golf ball sized hail has been reported with this storm to the south of biltmore forest. locations impacted include, arden, asheville airport, skyland, fletcher, fairview in buncombe county, biltmore forest, b.r. parkway, nc arboretum to east asheville, avery creek, gerton and edneyville.
