At 213 pm cdt, a severe thunderstorm was located near petersburg, or 40 miles southwest of norfolk, moving southeast at 25 mph (radar indicated). Hazards include 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding and trees.

The severe thunderstorm warning for central boone county will expire at 1000 pm cdt, the storms which prompted the warning have weakened somewhat, thus the warning for boone county will be allowed to expire at 10 pm cdt. however small hail, .gusty winds and heavy rain are still possible with thunderstorms across boone county now, and moving in from the southwest. a severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect until 200 am cdt for northeastern nebraska. to report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement agency. they will relay your report to the national weather service omaha.

At 937 pm cdt, a severe thunderstorm was located over albion, or 39 miles northwest of columbus, moving east at 35 mph (radar indicated). Hazards include ping pong ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts. People and animals outdoors will be injured. expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows and vehicles. expect wind damage to roofs, siding and trees. locations impacted include, albion, petersburg and loretto. dime size hail was reported near petersburg with these storms. But the strongest part of the storm was approaching albion where much larger hail is likely.

The severe thunderstorm warning for southeastern antelope, northeastern boone and madison counties will expire at 300 am cdt, the storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property. therefore the warning will be allowed to expire. however small.

Damage to vehicles is expected. locations impacted include, norfolk, madison, battle creek, newman grove, elgin, petersburg, oakdale, meadow grove, tilden and loretto. this includes the following highways, highway 275 in nebraska between mile markers 48 and 74. Highway 81 in nebraska between milemarkers 137 and 160.
