Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. tree damage is likely. this dangerous storm will be near, rock creek lake around 800 pm cst. grinnell around 805 pm cst. other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include searsboro, lynnville, kellogg, grinnell regional airport, reasnor, oakland acres, sully, rock creek state park and newton municipal airport. This includes interstate 80 between mile markers 168 and 188.

The severe thunderstorm warning for northeastern marion, northern mahaska, southeastern jasper and southern poweshiek counties will expire at 530 pm cdt, the severe thunderstorm which prompted the warning has weakened. therefore the warning will be allowed to expire. however heavy rain is still possible with this thunderstorm. a tornado watch remains in effect until 1100 pm cdt for south central iowa. remember, a severe thunderstorm warning still remains in effect for southeastern mahaska and marion counties.
