The severe thunderstorm warning for eastern surry and west central stokes counties will expire at 615 pm edt, the storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property. therefore the warning will be allowed to expire. when it is safe to do so, please send your reports of hail of any size, as well as any reports of wind damage, including downed trees or large limbs, to the national weather service by calling toll free at 1, 8 6 6, 2 1 5, 4 3 2 4. reports and pictures can also be shared on the national weather service blacksburg facebook page and on twitter.
