The severe thunderstorm warning for poweshiek and southeastern jasper counties will expire at 845 pm cdt, the storms which prompted the warning have weakened below severe limits, and no longer pose an immediate threat to life or property. therefore the warning will be allowed to expire. however heavy rain is still possible with these thunderstorms. a severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect until midnight cdt for central iowa.

This includes interstate 80 between mile markers 174 and 184.

The severe thunderstorm warning for northeastern marion, northern mahaska, southeastern jasper and southern poweshiek counties will expire at 530 pm cdt, the severe thunderstorm which prompted the warning has weakened. therefore the warning will be allowed to expire. however heavy rain is still possible with this thunderstorm. a tornado watch remains in effect until 1100 pm cdt for south central iowa. remember, a severe thunderstorm warning still remains in effect for southeastern mahaska and marion counties.
