At 738 pm edt, doppler radar continued to indicate a severe thunderstorm capable of producing quarter size hail and damaging winds in excess of 58 mph. this storm was located near the union and stanly county line, a few miles south of oakboro and stanfield, or 12 miles northeast of monroe, moving southwest at 20 mph. locations impacted include, stanfield, and mostly rural, extreme southern stanly county.
