At 654 pm edt, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 6 miles east of moorefield to near brandywine to 6 miles northeast of burnsville, moving east at 45 mph (radar indicated). Hazards include 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches to fall. this could injure those outdoors, as well as damage homes and vehicles. roadways may become blocked by downed trees. localized power outages are possible. At 504 pm edt, a severe thunderstorm was located near grottoes, or 9 miles northeast of staunton, moving southeast at 30 mph (radar indicated). Hazards include 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

At 612 pm edt, doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing quarter size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. this storm was located over waynesboro, and moving northeast at 15 mph.
