  • Brown = 5% probability of hail 1″ or larger within 25 miles of a point.
  • Yellow = 15% probability of hail 1″ or larger within 25 miles of a point.

The Storm Prediction Center did a pretty good job overall for Monday, March 7th, 2016.  As you can see from the image above, almost all of the significant hail fell in the 15% zone, including the tiny swath up into Kansas.  We are going to ding them a little for the absence of hail near OKC and Austin, but overall a pretty good job – especially since we thought it might end up being a complete bust.

Not much in the way of direct hits for this date, but hey – it’s hailing in early March for a change…  We have to be a little thankful for that!
